Nina Dennison Spain is a painter and visual artist with over three decades of creative practice spanning two continents. Born and raised in the United States, Nina developed her artistic voice through formal study of classical drawing and oil painting — building a foundation in technique that continues to anchor her most expressive work today.
Her journey as an artist has been as much geographic as it has been aesthetic. From the desert plateaus of Arizona, where the quality of light is singular and the colours are fierce, to the coasts of Chile and Mexico, the Loire Valley of France, and the medieval canals of Belgium — each place has found its way into her palette and her vision. Her landscapes are not mere records of what she has seen, but emotional documents of how a place feels.
Now based in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, just south of Barcelona, Nina has established Galería Mil Colores Nina — an intimate art space and working studio dedicated to the celebration of original painting. The gallery opened in 2026 as both a venue for her own work and a platform for emerging and established artists in the Catalan region.
Comprehensive academic study in drawing, composition, colour theory, and the classical Western painting tradition. Foundation in oil painting techniques with a focus on realism and expressive brushwork.
Intensive study with established artists across North America. Specialisation in portraiture, landscape painting, and the direct observation method in plein air and studio settings.
Ongoing artistic development through travel and study in Mexico, Chile, France, Belgium, and Spain — drawing directly from the environments she paints and engaging with the local artistic communities.
